Location
The telephone keypad is located in the hand rest of the center console. The telephone keypad is equipped with a heated cover that must be opened before use.
Tasks
The telephone keypad forwards signals for button operation to the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9) via the telephone keypad LIN (LIN A2).
The buttons of the telephone keypad are not only used for the telephone functions, but for additional functions depending on the context; furthermore, they can be assigned as favorite buttons with a specific function by the user.
Function
The favorites function is enabled (the integrated LED illuminates in red) and disabled again (the integrated LED goes off) using the star button. The assignment of the favorite buttons is shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).
