Location 

The rear mobile phone cradle control unit is located in the armrest of the rear bench seat.

Tasks 

The rear mobile phone cradle control unit is responsible for the following:

• Power supply via circuit 30t and circuit 31 (input)
• Reception of switch-in signal (Wake-up) via telematics CAN (CAN A) from the head unit (A26/17) (input)
• Sending of switch-on signal (Wake-up) to the cellular telephone system antenna amplifier/compensator (A28/16)
• Charging of battery for smartphones that support the Qi standard:
  • Inductive charging of smartphone battery (with cooling at same time) (output)
  • Sending charge level for smartphone battery via telematics CAN to the head unit (output)
  • Reception of charge level for smartphone battery through capacitive coupling with smartphone (input)
  • Control signal for activation of inductive charging of smartphone battery (input)
• Smartphone connection via the rear cellular telephone system antenna amplifier/compensator, the telephone antenna splitter (A2/109) and the left emergency call system antenna (A2/54), right emergency call system antenna (A2/55):
  • Data exchange of telephone and Internet signals via the rear cellular telephone system antenna amplifier/compensator (input, output)
  • Data exchange of telephone and Internet signals over a capacitive coupling between smartphone and rear mobile phone cradle control unit (input, output)

Structure 

The rear mobile phone cradle control unit has an antenna for capacitive communication via wireless data exchange. An induction loop is installed that enables wireless electrical charging of the smartphone battery.
