| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Lift catch hook on trim piece (3) through opening (arrow B) with suitable screwdriver, then slightly guide catch hook of trim piece (3) out of armrest and hold trim piece (3) so that the catch hook cannot stuck | ||
| 2 | Unclip with trim piece (3) from front toward rear from remaining mounting points and remove | ||

| 3 | Unlock catch hook (13) through opening (arrow C) in door lining (1) and remove frame (17) with driver side power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20) or passenger side power window switch group (S21/2) upward out of door lining (1) | ||
| 4 | Remove screws/bolts (14) | ||
| 5 | Unclip cover (12) and unscrew bolt below | Model 222 with code Z07 (Top protection) |

| 6 | Unclip left front door exit and warning lamp (E17/3) or right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/4) from door lining (1) | ||

| 7 | Reach into opening (arrow A) and carefully unclip retaining clip (6) on door lining (1) by pulling carefully to inner sealing rail | Unclip door lining (1) by hand. The door lining (1) can be damaged when using the assembly wedge. |

| 8 | Slightly pivot door lining (1) toward inside of vehicle, then remove horizontally starting at front from inner sealing rail and push toward rear until door lining (1) moves out of retaining clip (5) and retaining clip (5) releases from front door inner panel (4) | ||
| 9 | Remove door lining (1) from front door (4) until electrical connectors (10, 11) on left front door control unit (N69/1) or right front door control unit (N69/2) and inside door opener wire (7) are accessible | ||
| 10 | Disconnect electrical connectors (10, 11) from left front door control unit (N691) or right front door control unit (N692) | ||
| 11 | Unhook inside door opener cable (7) on inside door handle (8) | ||
| 12 | Disconnect electrical connector (15) from left front door midrange speaker (H4/72) or right front door midrange speaker (H4/73) | ||
| 13 | Remove door lining (1) | ||
| 14 | Install in the reverse order |
