Rear Side Roller Blind, Function - GF68.50-P-0003LF
Model 222
with code 297 (Electric roller sun blind in left and right rear door)
Function requirements, general
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Circuit 15R ON
- Child safety lock not activated (actuation via control elements in rear)
- Corresponding side window in rear closed (until May 31, 2018)
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the circuit status of circuit 15 to the front door control units and rear door control units via the interior CAN.
Up to t = 5 min after circuit 15R OFF, the rear side roller sunblinds can be actuated provided that neither of the front doors has been opened. The front door control unit transmit the status of the front doors (open or closed) to the rear door control unit via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit sends the child safety lock status over the interior CAN to the rear door control units.
Rear side roller sun blind, general
The rear side roller sun blinds are located on the left and right rear door.
When the rear side roller sunblinds are extended, they offer the following comfort to the vehicle occupants in the rear passenger compartment:
- Sightproofing
- Blind protection
- Protection against excessive thermal radiation
A stationary triangular window and a movable side window are integrated into the rear doors. The stationary triangular window can be darkened by the vertically movable rear side roller sun blind and the movable side window by a horizontally movable roller sun blind. The rear side roller sun blinds always close and open together in the automatic mode without intermediate position. The rear side window roller sun blind on the left rear door are driven by the left rear door roller sun blind motor, the rear side window roller sun blind in the right rear door by the right rear door roller sun blind motor.
The rear side roller sun blind function comprises the following partial functions:
- Function sequence for extending/retracting rear side roller sun blind
- Function sequence for lockup recognition
Function sequence for extending/retracting rear side roller sun blind
The left rear side roller sun blind can be extended and retracted by actuating the power window switch and left rear side window roller sun blind in the left rear door switch group, the power window switch and left rear side window roller sun blind in the right rear door switch group as well as by the left rear power window switch in the power window and driver side outside mirror adjustment switch group. The status of the power window switch and left rear side window roller sun blind in the left rear door switch group is read in by the left rear door control unit via the left rear door LIN. The right rear door control unit reads in the status of the power window switch and left rear side window roller sun blind in the right rear door switch group via the right rear door LIN and transmits it to the left rear door control unit via the interior CAN. The left front control unit reads in the status of the right rear power window switch in the power window and driver side outside mirror adjustment switch group via the left front door LIN and transmits it to the right rear door control unit via the interior CAN.
The right rear side roller sun blind can be extended and retracted by actuating the power window switch and right rear side window roller sun blind in the left rear door switch group, the power window switch and right rear side window roller sun blind in the left rear door switch group as well as by the right rear power window switch in the power window and driver side outside mirror adjustment switch group. The status of the power window switch and right rear side window roller sun blind in the right rear door switch group is read in by the right rear door control unit via the right rear door LIN. The left rear door control unit reads in the status of the power window switch and right rear side window roller sun blind in the left rear door switch group via the left rear door LIN and transmits it to the right rear door control unit via the interior CAN. The left front control unit reads in the status of the right rear power window switch in the power window and driver side outside mirror adjustment switch group via the left front door LIN and transmits it to the right rear door control unit via the interior CAN.
The left rear door control unit or right rear door control unit actuates the corresponding rear door roller sun blind motor according to the status of the power window switch in and rear side window roller sun blind or left/right rear door power window switch.
First the position of the rear side roller sun blinds must be determined before they can be extended or retracted. For this purpose both rear door roller sun blind motors are equipped with a Hall sensor, which signals are read in directly by the corresponding rear door control unit.
The location counter integrated into the corresponding rear door control unit determines the position of the rear side roller sun blinds using the signals from the Hall sensor. Depending on the actuation, the counter status of the location counter is increased when "retracting" and reduced when "extending" the rear side roller sun blinds.
Function sequence for lockup recognition
The "zero position" of the rear side roller sun blinds is determined by the position recognition (normalization). For this purpose completely extend rear side roller sun blinds.
The rear door roller sun blind motors are actuated until they lock. When normalizing, the upper end position (rear side roller sun blind extended) is set to the "Zero point" in the location counter of the corresponding rear door control unit.
The corresponding rear door control unit has the following safety systems as master control unit for the rear side roller sunblinds:
- Excess force limiter
- Blockage detection
Excess force limiter:
- The rear side roller sun blind has an excess force limiter, which is activated when the rear side roller sun blinds are activated. This is based on the evaluation of the power consumption of the motor. For this purpose, the threshold value is stored in the corresponding rear door control unit. If the power consumption of the motor exceeds the threshold value, the drive and thus the rear roller sun blind is reversed.
Blockage detection
- If the rear side roller blind is in the effective area of the excess force limiter, an emergency function is additionally activated when moving up. This emergency function is actuated when the threshold voltage is exceeded. This causes the rear roller sun blinds to reverse and thus retract completely.
