	Remove/install
1	Remove charger feed socket flap	Model 222.163/173
			AR54.10-P-5110LFH
2	Remove rear lamps units		AR82.10-P-4905LF
3	Remove rear center assembly trim		AR68.30-P-4600LF
4	Remove left and right cover (9)
5	Remove left and right stop plug (14)
6	Unscrew screws of bumper (1) through the openings (arrows A)
7	Release left and right side trim (10) and push to one side		AR68.30-P-4600LF
8	Unscrew nuts of bumper (1) through the openings (arrows B and C)
9	Detach underfloor paneling at rear	Loosen underfloor paneling at rear until bolts (8) are accessible.	AR61.30-P-1001LF
10	Unscrew screws (5, 8)
11	Unclip retaining clip (12) with hose (13)	Model 222 with code M002 (Engines with turbocharger with charge air cooling)
12	Detach left and right fender liner (2) and push toward side		AR88.10-P-1400LF
13	Remove bolts (3)
14	Disconnect electrical connections (11) and unclip wiring harness	The number of electrical connectors (11) varies depending on the equipment.
15	Remove expansion rivets (4, 7)
16	Remove bolts (6)
17	Unclip bumper (1) from left and right rear wheel arches
18	Unclip bumper (1) from rear fenders and in area of rear lamp units	Helper required.
19	Remove bumper (1)	Helper required.
20	Install in the reverse order
	Check
21	Check whether active parking assist is ready for operation	Model 222 with code 235 (Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC) Switch on ignition, switch on active parking assist, engage reverse gear and release parking brake. Active Parking Assist performs a self-test, the warning displays signal operational readiness.
22	Check whether blind spot assist is ready for operation	Model 222 with code 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist) Switch on ignition. The operation and warning indicators in the outside mirrors illuminate red and then yellow.
