Temperature-Controlled Cup Holder, Function - GF68.00-P-0001LF
Model 222 with code 224 (Individual rear seats)
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the status of circuit 15 via interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit. Temperature-controlled cup holder, general Beverages can be cooled or heated with the cup holder. It is possible to heat to approx. T = 58°C and cool to approx. T = 3°C.
The main cup holder components are:
- Cup holder button
- Heating/cooling element (Peltier element)
- Fan
- Temperature sensor
Before switching on the circuit the cupholder is supplied with power 15R via the cupholder relay and sockets for the 2nd seat row in the rear fuse and relay module.
The cup holder function comprises the following partial functions:
- Function sequence for cooling
- Function sequence for heating
- Function sequence for display of fault messages
Function sequence for cooling
The cooling function is activated when the cup holder button is actuated once. Active cooling is indicated by a blue LED flashing. The cooling procedure takes places within the following time-dependent cooling output for a 0.33 l beverage can as an example:
- Within t = 30 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 15°C
- Within t = 60 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 10°C
- Within t = 120 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 5°C
The cooling procedure can be interrupted when the LED on the cup holder button is pressed again before the LED goes out.
Function sequence for heating
The heating function is activated when the cup holder button is pressed twice. Active heating is indicated by a red LED flashing. The heating procedure takes places within the following time-dependent heating output for a 0.33 l beverage can as an example:
- Within t = 30 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 30°C
- Within t = 60 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 40°C
- Within t = 120 min from T = 21°C to approx. T = 50°C
As of a temperature of approx. T = 40°C, the residual heat indicator lamp indicates the elevated temperature to the vehicle occupants. The heating procedure can be interrupted when the LED on the cup holder button is pressed again before the LED goes out.
Function sequence for display of fault messages
Errors occurring during operation are indicated by the corresponding LED flashing:
- Double flashing:
The cup holder button is inhibited.
- Flashing three times:
Malfunction in cupholder heating/cooling element. Disconnect cup holder from on-board electrical system and reconnect. If the error occurs again, the heating/cooling system is defective.
- Flashing four times:
Malfunction in cup holder temperature sensor. Disconnect cup holder from on-board electrical system and reconnect. If this error occurs again, the temperature sensor is defective.
