Connection scheme
Routing diagram
- Route dashcam wiring harness (8) from front dashcam mount under roof lining towards left to A-pillar.
- Fasten ferrite cores of dashcam wiring harness (8) to overhead control panel mount (36) using cable ties (arrows A).
- Route the three individual lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) above the window airbag (30).
- Route the three individual lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) above the window airbag (30) into the footwell.
Route the three individual lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) behind the crossmember for the instrument panel
- Route ground line (8. 10) of dashcam wiring harness to driver footwell frame floor assembly ground point (W85/1) and connect.
- Remove violet connector socket (MR2) at front SAM control unit (N10/6).
- Remove gray 21-pin connector socket insert from violet connector socket (MR2).
- Remove line (20) from contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin connector socket insert (19).
or the supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit
- Install line (20) in free contact cavity of blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3) of dashcam wiring harness (8).
- Lock blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3).
- Install line (8.8) of Y-line (8.7) in contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin connector socket insert (19).
- Install gray 21-pin connector socket insert in violet connector socket (MR2).
- Attach violet connector socket (MR2) to front SAM control unit (N10/6).
- Connect blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3) of dashcam wiring harness (8) to blue 2-pin plug (8.9) of Y-line (8.7).
- Remove electrical fuse (29) from slot 207 (arrow B) of driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 15 A.
- Release yellow fuse holder (24) at driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Remove red/black line (25) from contact cavity "4" (arrow C) of yellow fuse holder (24).
- Install red line (8.12) of Y-line (8.6) in contact cavity "4" (arrow C) of yellow fuse holder (24).
- Lock yellow fuse holder (24) at driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Install removed red/black line (25) in free contact cavity of fuse holder (8.4) of Y-line (8.6).
- Install lock (8.13) in fuse holder (8.4) (arrow D).
- Install electrical fuse (29) in fuse holder (8.4).
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 15 A.
- Plug both fuse holders (8.4, 8.5) of dashcam wiring harness (8) together.
- Install electrical fuse (55) included in parts kit in slot 207 (arrow B) of driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Insert black plug (8.1) of Dashcam wiring harness (8) into pocket (40) made of felt.
- Fasten pocket (40) to Dashcam wiring harness (8) using fabric tape (41).
- Route line branch-off for rear dashcam up to installation location of driver's side fuse and relay module.
Route line branch-off for rear Dashcam along A-pillar in front of instrument panel crossmember.
- Tie line branch-off for rear dashcam (arrow K) and fix in place in installation space behind the driver's side fuse and relay module.
- Strap down excess lengths of Dashcam wiring harness in area of A-pillar.
- Finally, secure Dashcam wiring harness on roof lining using felt adhesive tape.
