Location
The active belt buckle control unit is located on the left equipment support in the trunk.
Tasks
The active belt buckle has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Left rear seat active belt buckle motor (M64/1)
- Right rear seat active belt buckle motor (M64/2)
Interior CAN
The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:
- Status of the left rear belt buckle switch (S68/11)
- Status of the right rear belt buckle switch (S68/12)
- Status of the center rear belt buckle switch (S68/14) (without code (224) Individual rear seat system design)
- PRE-SAFE status
- PRE-SAFE stage
- Crash signal
- Status of seat belt adjustment function
- Status of rear doors (open/closed)
- Status of central locking
- Status of engine operation
Evaluation of input factors
The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the integrated components are actuated and the CAN signals issued.
Actuation of components
The components are actuated via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Left rear seat active belt buckle motor
- Right rear seat active belt buckle motor
Interior CAN
The following signal is also sent over the interior CAN:
- Request to display fault message to instrument cluster (A1)
