| 1 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit | ||
| 2 | Remove stowage compartment with ashtray (5) | ||
| 3 | Tape up lining edge of stowage compartment with ashtray (5) with a sturdy adhesive tape (6 as shown | Otherwise, the lining of the stowage compartment with ashtray (5) will be damaged |

| 4 | Unclip connector (7) on the rear of the stowage compartment with ashtray (5) | ||
| 5 | Unclip electrical wiring harness (8) at line bracket (9) from stowage compartment with ashtray (5) | ||
| 6 | Remove insert (1) from housing (3) | ||
| 7 | Insert pliers (2) into the housing (3) and pull the housing (3) out of the spring pin (4) until the electrical connector (10) is accessible | Otherwise, the lining on the stowage compartment with ashtray (5) may be damaged. |

| 9 | Unclip spring pin (4) from the stowage compartment with ashtray (5) by pushing back the two catch hooks, and then remove it | ||

| 13 | Remove insert (12) from housing (14) | ||
| 14 | Insert pliers (2) into the housing (14) and pull the housing (14) out of the spring pin (13) until the electrical connector (arrow C) is accessible | Fig 1 | |
| 15 | Disconnect electrical connector (arrow C) and remove cigarette lighter with ashtray illumination, rear (R3/1) | ||
| 16 | Unclip spring pin (13) by pushing back the two catch hooks and remove from the compartment (11) | ||
| 17 | Installation of the cigarette lighter with ashtray illumination, rear (R3/1) in reverse order |
