| 1 | Switch off all electrical consumers and take transmitter key out of reception range | Otherwise, they may be damaged when the ground line (1) is disconnected/connected. |

| 3 | Release nut (3) and disconnect ground line (2) from negative terminal on additional battery (G1/7) | *BA54.10-P-1009-01J | |
| 4 | Using a diode test lamp, check the on-board electrical system for voltage between the positive line (10) of the additional battery (G1/7) and a suitable ground point | Otherwise a short circuit may occur. If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. ↓ Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery |

| 11 | Remove additional battery (G1/7) from trunk | ||
