Measuring method for measurement of a dent
Measuring method for measurement of a dent, Shown On model 451
Use a vernier caliper with a round measuring tongue of a maximum diameter of 1.5 mm to measure the depth of the dent. In doing so, measure the depth of the dent against a reference line (original, not deformed housing contour) with a straightedge, scale ruler or contact angle.
Example of a damaged high-voltage battery (G5) with various dent depths:
- Permissible dent depth (arrow a).
- Impermissible dent depth (arrow b), exclusion criterion for transportation approval.
Measuring method for depth measurement, Shown On model 451
- Calibration of zero point with a contact angle compared with undamaged housing contour (arrow c) of high-voltage battery (G5).
Measuring method for depth measurement, Shown On model 451
- Measurement of maximum dent depth (d) on high-voltage battery (G5).
Dent depth (d) < 2 mm: Transport authorization
Dent depth (d) > 2 mm: No transport authorization
