Component Description For 360 Degree Viewing System Control Unit - GF54.65-P-5003LF
Model 217, 222
up to model year 2018
with code 501 (360° camera)
Shown model 222.0
Location
The 360° camera control unit is located on the left sidewall in the trunk.
Tasks
The 360° camera control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Output of signals
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in over the following connections:
- High-speed video link (HSVL)
- User interface CAN (CAN HMI)
HSVL
The image data from each of the following assembly parts is read in via a separate HSVL line:
- Left 360° outside mirror camera (B84/7)
- Right 360° outside mirror camera (B84/8)
- Camera, front 360° camera (B84/9)
- Reversing camera for 360° system (B84/10)
User interface CAN
The signals for activating the 360° camera and for calculating the representation in the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) are read in by the 360° camera control unit over the user interface CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The signals for activating the Audio/COMAND display are sent by the 360° camera control unit over the user interface CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Output of signals
The 360° camera control unit sends the picture data to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) via a digital video interface.
