Location

The camera cover control unit is located in the truck to the left on the equipment carrier.

Tasks

The camera cover control unit controls the opening and closing of the front (with code 501 (360° camera)) and rear camera covers. The corresponding camera covers protect the lens of the reversing camera or the lenses of the front and rear end 360° cameras from contamination by external influences (e.g. splash water).

The camera cover control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of sensors

The input factors are read in over the following connections:

Direct line

The camera cover control unit directly reads in the status of the rear camera cover motor switch (M35/2s1). The camera cover control unit detects the position of the front camera cover (with code 501 (360° camera)) via a pulse width modulated signal from the front camera cover motor (M35/1).

IMPORTANT The switch for the rear camera cover motor detects the actual end position of the rear camera cover (open/closed).

Interior CAN

The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:

The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components

The following components are actuated:

Output of signals

The camera cover control unit sends the front flap position status (with code 501 (360° camera)) or rear flap position status (model 217, model 222 with code 218 (Reversing camera)) via the interior CAN.
