Remove/Install Rear Door Power Window - AR72.12-P-1810LFS

Model 222 

with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) 

with code Z13 (Left rear power window with special protection) 

with code Z14 (Right rear power window with special protection)

WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove door module from left and right rear doors   AR72.12-P-0103LFS 
2 Fit hydraulic fluid reservoir to rear door    
3 Connect hydraulic unit to power window (1)    
4 Connect CAN box (as control unit replacement) or control unit with power window operating unit to power window (1)    
5 Open side window approx. 5 mm    
6 Mark window at least 5 mm and not more than 7 mm from top edge IMPORTANT See arrow (A) in picture.  
7 Completely close side window on left or right rear door and secure with clamping pliers so it cannot drop down SPECIAL TOOL Clamping pliers Fig 2
8 Unscrew nuts (3)    
9 Lower power window (1) but ensure that nuts (4) are still accessible    
10 Unscrew nuts (4)    
11 Release pressure in pressure reservoir for hydraulic power window in rear door   AR72.12-P-1810-06LFS 
    NOTES The pressure reservoir for the hydraulic power window in the rear door must be relieved of pressure.
Otherwise, the couplings of the hydraulic lines can no longer be connected.
 
12 Disconnect couplings of hydraulic lines by pressing spring clips apart    
13 Remove rear bracket (towards C-pillar) for power window (1)    
14 Remove power window (1) with front bracket (towards B-pillar)    
15 With a suitable support, additionally secure side window from below so it cannot drop down    
INSTALLING Install     
16 Remove support for side window    
17 Install power window (1) with front bracket (towards B-pillar)    
18 Install rear bracket (towards C-pillar) for power window (1)    
19 Replace screw plug for hydraulic fluid reservoir with a bleed screw When replacing power window (1).  
    NOTES Replace screw plug on hydraulic fluid reservoir.
Otherwise, leaks and system failure may occur.
 
20 Fit hydraulic fluid reservoir to rear door    
21 Fit hydraulic unit to rear door, and connect    
22 Connect CAN box (as control unit replacement) or control unit with power window operating unit to power window (1)    
23 Move power window (1) up to side window    
24 Carefully lift power window (1) until power window (1) makes contact with bottom edge of side window IMPORTANT When lifting power window, ensure that the threaded pins of the side window and the holes in the power window (1) are aligned.  
25 Fit nuts (4) and screw on carefully until arrow marking (A) is reached NOTES
Toward the inside there should be distance of 5 mm between the power window and the door liner and at least 3 mm between the window and door paneling (armor plate).
Otherwise the power window (1) may be damaged.
 
26 Center power window (1) in relation to side window (see arrows B and C) NOTES
Center power window (1) in relation to side window.
Otherwise the window guides may be damaged.
 
27 Fit nuts (3)    
28 Tighten nuts (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut to window lifter *BA72.12-P-1008-01S 
29 Spray nuts (4) and threads with preserving wax IMPORTANT As corrosion protection.  
    Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can) *BR00.45-Z-1018-05A 
30 Tighten nuts (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, side window to window lifter *BA72.12-P-1013-01S 
31 Remove clamping pliers SPECIAL TOOL Clamping pliers Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
32 Check catches on power window (1) NOTES
Catches should mesh.
Otherwise the power window (1) must be readjusted.
 
33 Carefully move power window (1) in and out of rear door NOTES
Power window (1) must not come into contact with window guides.
Otherwise the window guide may be damaged.
NOTES
Side window may only protrude 5 mm into top of door frame.
Otherwise damage may occur.
NOTES
Leave clearance of approx. 2 mm between power window (1) and brackets for power window (1).
Otherwise damage may occur.
NOTES
Leave clearance of approx. 1 mm between power window (1) and rear armor plate. Otherwise damage may occur.
 
34 Check that ball joints for bracket of power window (1) are correctly seated NOTES
Ball joints should not come into contact with power window (1).
Otherwise noise may occur.
 
35 Check function of microswitch for side window roller blind Model 222
with code 297 (Electric roller sun blind in left and right rear door)
with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
with code Z13 (Left rear power window with special protection)
with code Z14 (Right rear power window with special protection)
 
36 Release pressure in pressure reservoir for hydraulic power window in rear door   AR72.10-P-1800-06LFS 
    NOTES
The pressure reservoir for the hydraulic power window in the rear door must be relieved of pressure.
Otherwise, the couplings of the hydraulic lines can no longer be connected.
 
37 Remove hydraulic fluid reservoir and hydraulic unit from rear door    
INSTALLING Install     
38 Remove door module from left or right rear door   AR72.12-P-0103LFS
