Prepare Panoramic Roof Frame Body Flange For Installation - AR77.21-P-0800-05LF

MODIFICATION NOTES

23.04.2018 Notes on removal/installation of bonded elements of the panoramic roof added.    
  1. Cut back adhesive material residues (1, 2) on body flange to a residual height of max. 1 mm with a scraper.

  2. Completely cut back residues of the 2 mm spacers (3) and 3 mm spacers (4) and the adhesive material residues (1) present in these areas.
  3. Use a scraper to completely cut back adhesive material residues (1) in the areas where the spacers, which are glued on the new front panorama roof frame, will later rest.
  4. Remove cut off adhesive material residues (1, 2) from the body flange.
  5. Check body grommets in the area of the front panorama roof frame for damage.

    If there is a problem,

    replace respective body grommet.

  6. Check body flange for paint damage.

    If there is a problem,

    Repair paint damage on body flange.

  7. Apply primer in the respective adhesive area.

    Only if adhesive material residues (1, 2) in the adhesive area are missing.

  8. Glue on new 2 mm spacers (3) and 3 mm spacers (4) so that they are flush with the edge of the body flange.

    IMPORTANT After the primer has dried.

    Observe dimensions (A, B).

    Dimension (A): 239 mm, measured from bottom edge on transition between roof frame and body flange.

    Dimension (B): 443 mm, measured from bottom edge of on transition between roof frame and body flange.

  9. Cut back adhesive material residues (6, 7) on the body flange to a residual height of max. 1 mm with a scraper.

  10. Completely cut back residues of the 4.5 mm spacers (5) and the adhesive material residues (6) present in these areas.

    If 4.5 mm spacers (5) are installed.

  11. Remove cut off adhesive material residues (6) from body flange.
  12. Check body grommets in the area of the front roof frame for damage.

    If there is a problem,

    replace respective body grommet.

  13. Check body flange for paint damage.

    If there is a problem,

    repair paint damage on body flange.

  14. Apply primer in the

    respective adhesive area.

    Only if adhesive material residues (6, 7) in the adhesive area are missing.

  15. Glue on new 4.5 mm spacers (5) so that they are flush with the body flange.

    If 4.5 mm spacers (5) were installed.

    IMPORTANT After the primer has dried.

    Dimension (C): 170 mm, measured from bottom edge of on transition between roof frame and body flange.
