NOTES Bonding surfaces must be free from dust oil grease wax dirt residues and other adhesive components

Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.

IMPORTANT Use only the repair kit specified in the EPC.

  1. Open adhesive cartridge and insert sealing and corrosion protection gun.

IMPORTANT To press out the remaining residual quantities in the adhesive cartridges SPECIAL TOOL insert adapters in adhesive cartridges and plates at push rods of sealing and corrosion protection gun.

  2. Actuate sealing and corrosion protection gun until the level in the adhesive cartridges is compensated.

IMPORTANT Both adhesive components should exit from openings in adhesive cartridges.

  3. Install mixing tube on adhesive cartridges.
  4. Ensure a uniform premixing of the adhesive components; for this purpose press out and discard two mixing tube lengths.
  5. Mix one additional measuring tube length for reference.

NOTES During processing breaks of ≥ 15 min, rinse mixing tube by pressing out adhesive material or replace mixing tube taking operation step 4 into account.

The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise reduced and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.

IMPORTANT The reference adhesive bead is used to check and confirm the adhesive curing of the adhesively bonded connection before moving the vehicle for the first time after gluing in the rear stationary element.

  6. Apply adhesive material evenly on the bonding surface (1) of the rear stationary element.

NOTES Apply adhesive material within 25 minutes and position rear stationary element within the next 15 minutes on the body flanges (3) and fix in place. The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.

IMPORTANT Apply adhesive material in the form of an adhesive bead with a height of approx. 14 mm and a width of approx. 8 to 10 mm. Immediately remove soiling caused by adhesive.
