Remove/Install Limit Switch For Closed Soft Top - AR77.39-P-3701LWR

WARNING Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Move soft top to repair position R3   AR77.30-P-1030LWR 
2 Cover rear left fender    
3 Knock rivet (1) off of soft top frame (2) and remove rivet residues    
4 Cut wiring harness (3) at suitable point NOTES Cut wiring harness (3) so that the repair point is not stressed mechanically when opening and closing the soft top.
Otherwise the repair point can be damaged.		  
5 Remove soft top closed limit switch (S84/31)    
INSTALLING Install     
6 Shorten electrical lines of new soft top closed limit switch (S84/31) to corresponding length If necessary.  
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling fumes during soldering. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated. Secure power supply cables. Avoid sources of fire in working area. AS00.19-Z-0002-01A
7 Solder electrical lines of new soft top closed limit switch (S84/31) to wiring harness (3) and insulate

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0049B
      AR00.19-P-0100-09A
    SPECIAL TOOL New passenger car wiring harness repair kit Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Wire stripper Fig 6
    SPECIAL TOOL Welding bead catcher Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Wiring harness repair kit, basic Fig 5
    SPECIAL TOOL Reflector Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 7
8 Protect repair point with fabric tape after repairing line   AR00.19-P-0100-08A
9 Rivet soft top closed limit switch (S84/31) to soft top frame (2) IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.  
10 Remove retainers for repair position on soft top mechanism    
11 Remove cover from rear left fender    
12 Completely close soft top
