Overview

General 

The manual interior lighting control makes it possible to switch the interior lighting and reading lights on and off.

The following lamps can be actuated while doing so:

• Reading lamps
• Dome lamp
• Interior lights

If the energy management detects a hazard to the starting capability, the interior lighting is deactivated in accordance with the consumer shutoff strategy.

Function 

Manual interior light control on cars 

The user can switch the interior lighting on and off as follows:

• With the corresponding button for the illumination
• Via voice control (vehicles with voice control)
• Via the front gesture recognition system (vehicles with front gesture recognition system)
• Through the rear gesture recognition system (vehicles with rear gesture recognition system)

The manually switched on illumination is automatically switched off:

• 30 min after circuit 15 off
• When locking the vehicle via the central locking

On vehicles with adaptive interior lighting, the illumination in the rear passenger compartment is equipped with additional adaptive functions.

Manual interior light control on off-road vehicles 

Function requirements:

• The interior lighting is activated via the exterior lights switch.
• The manual interior light control is switched on via the button in the respective interior lamp.

The user can switch the interior lighting on or off using the corresponding buttons at the interior lamps.

The manually switched on illumination is automatically switched off:

• 30 min after circuit 15 off

When the stealth light function is activated (depending on the equipment installed), the interior lighting is deactivated.
