Remove Wheel Well - Ar62.20-P-1200-21LW

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 205 and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on crossmember (2) and cut off (area A and B).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B).

  2. Heat crossmember (2) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  3. Remove crossmember (2).

  4. Mark separating points on wheel well (1) and cut (area C).

    NOTES Do not make the cuts too deep.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

  5. Expose spot welds on the wheel well (1) and cut off (area D).
  6. Heat wheel well (1) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  7. Bend separated sheet metal flange on wheel well (1) to side in direction of arrow.

  8. Mark separating point on wheel well (1) and cut (area E).

    NOTES Do not cut too deeply. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions  :

    e = approx. 30 mm

  9. Expose spot welds on the wheel well (1) and cut off (area F and G).

    IMPORTANT Cut spot weld through two panel thicknesses (area G).

  10. Expose spot welds on wheel well (1) and drill out with a diameter of 6 mm (area H).

  11. Heat wheel well (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  12. Heat wheel well (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  13. Remove wheel well (1).

  14. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Grind mating surfaces at bottom down to bare metal (area J).

  15. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  16. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Bonding surfaces may not be coated with zinc dust paint (area J and K).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
