Remove/Install Side Paneling In Trunk - AR68.30-P-4800ME

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open tailgate.    
2 Remove trunk separator.    
3 Remove spare wheel with stowage tray in the load compartment. Model 167.117/154
with code 669 (Spare tire on steel rim)
 
4.1 Move rear seat to foremost position and fold backrest all the way forward. Model 167.1
with code 567 (Vario rear seat)
 
4.2 Remove seat cushion and fold seat backrest forward. Model 167.1
except code 567 (Vario rear seat)

5 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
6 Unclip rear load compartment floor, lift, and disconnect electrical connector of KEYLESS-GO antenna in front load compartment. Model 167.117/154  
    IMPORTANT The KEYLESS-GO antenna is located at the bottom front of the load compartment floor.

7 Remove trunk floor. IMPORTANT Model 167.117/154
The KEYLESS-GO antenna remains on the load compartment floor.
 
8 Remove edge guard in working area of liftgate opening. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that edge guard is seated correctly.  
9 Remove rear-end center-section trim.   AR68.30-P-4786ME 
10 Remove luggage compartment cover. Model 167.1 with code 541 (Combined luggage cover incl. safety net)

with code 723 (Load compartment cover)
 
11 Remove luggage space management system frame. Model 167.1
with code 942 (Load compartment/trunk package)
 
12 Remove cargo retainers (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, cargo retainers to body *BA68.50-P-1001-03F 
13.1 Remove side section (3) of seat backrest. Model 167.1
with code 293 (Sidebag in rear left and right) except code 567 (Vario rear seat)
 
    IMPORTANT The sidebag unit can remain in the side section (3). AR91.60-P-0694ME
13.2 Remove screw (5) and remove side section (3) of seat backrest. Model 167.1
except code 293 (Sidebag in rear left and right)
except code 567 (Vario rear seat)
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, side section of rear seat backrest to holder *BA91.12-P-1012-03M 
14 Remove edge guard in working area of rear doors. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that edge guard is seated correctly.  
15 Remove rear door sill.   AR68.30-P-4100ME 
16 Unclip side trunk lining (1) until the electrical connectors are accessible. NOTES
Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension.
This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
17 Release and disconnect electrical connectors. IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.  
18 Remove side trunk lining (1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that side trunk lining (1) retracts into guides (arrows) correctly.  
19 Install in the reverse order.
