	Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A

	Remove/install
1	Perform commissioning of Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) control unit (N30/4).	If traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) is replaced.

		The Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) control unit (N30/4) is part of the traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3).
2	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
3	Remove air/water duct cover (1).		AR83.10-P-1411ME
4	Remove air intake scoop (2) of dust filter.
	Clean
5	Clean traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) in the area of the brake line connections.	Thoroughly clean area around connecting points before opening hydraulic system. Otherwise minute particles of dirt in the hydraulic components can result in malfunctions and total failure of the hydraulic system. Only use clean, lint free rags and cleaner free of mineral oil. Do not use any compressed air for cleaning when the brake system is open.

6	Mark brake lines (3) relative to the corresponding connection on the traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3).
7	Remove brake lines (3) from traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.	Route the brake lines (3) such that they are free of tension and do not chafe against adjacent parts. Pay attention to marking.

8	Release and disconnect electrical connector (4).
9	Remove traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) with Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) upward out of elastomer bearings (7).	Ensure that the bracket (6) is seated correctly in the elastomer bearings (7).
	Check
10	Check elastomer bearings (7) for damage and wear.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace elastomer bearings (7).
11	Unscrew screw (5) and remove bracket (6).	If traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) is replaced.
		Screw/bolt, ESP® hydraulic unit to bracket	*BA42.45-P-1003-01J
12	Install in the reverse order.
	Concluding tasks
13	Bleed brake system.		AR42.10-P-0010ME
14	Read out fault memory using vehicle diagnosis system; delete fault memory if necessary.
