	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A

	Remove
1	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
2	Remove cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir.		AR83.10-P-1411ME
3	Clean area around cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir.	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
4	Unscrew cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid.	This prevents the brake fluid expansion reservoir from overflowing when the brake pistons are pushed back.
5	Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.		AR40.10-P-1102ME
6	Unhook brake hose from holder (arrow D).
7	Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) of right front brake wear sensor.
8	Remove screw (3) and place plug housing (4) to one side.	On the right side of the vehicle.
9	Remove screw (5).
10	Swivel brake caliper (6) upward and secure against folding down.
11	Remove brakepads (1) from brake caliper support (7).
12	Remove sliding plates (8).	When replacing the brakepads (1).
	Check
13	Check brakepads (1) for wear and condition.

		If there is a problem, ↓ Replace brake linings (1).
14	Check brake disks for wear and condition.
			AP42.10-P-4256EW
		Replace brake disks in pairs only. If there is a problem, ↓ Replace brake disks.

15	Check brake caliper (6) with detachable parts for damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace corresponding components.

16	Check brake caliper support (7) and sliding bolts (9) for damage and ease of movement.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace brake caliper support (7).

	Clean
17	Clean contact surfaces of brakepads (1) at brake caliper (6) and at brake caliper support (7).	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise, the brake system may be damaged.
		Remove adhesive residue on contact surfaces of brake caliper (6) completely. Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
18	Clean dust boots of brake pistons.	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Install
19	Push back brake pistons.	The dust boots of the brake pistons must be correctly folded together when pushing back. Otherwise the dust boots of the brake pistons will be damaged.
		Resetting device	Fig 2
20	Push slide plates (8) centrally on upper and lower surfaces into slot of brake caliper support (7) (arrows A).	When replacing the brakepads (1).
21	Install right front brake wear sensor in brakepad (1).	When replacing the brakepads (1).
22	Install brakepads (1).	Press brakepads (1) in direction of arrow (B). Press springs (10) together until the brakepads (1) fit into the guides of the sliding plates (8). By pressing in direction of arrow (C), position brakepads (1) entirely on brake disk. Note installation location of brakepads (1). Do not apply any lubricants to brakepads (1). Only replace brakepads (1) in pairs.
23	Press brakepads (1) against brake disk and swivel brake caliper (6) downward.	Ensure that dust boots on brake piston are not damaged. Otherwise, damage will occur to the brake caliper (6) or the brake system will fail. Do not damage electric line of right front brake wear sensor. Otherwise, it is not guaranteed that the right front brake wear sensor will function. Ensure that the electrical connector (2) of the right front brake wear sensor is routed correctly.
24	Tighten screw (5).	Guide pin to brake caliper support	*BA42.10-P-1002-10L
25	Tighten plug housing (4) with screw (3).	On the right side of the vehicle.
		Bolt, brake pad contact sensor to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1004-10L
26	Connect electrical connector (2) of right front brake wear sensor.
27	Clip brake hose into holder (arrow D).	Do not twist or kink brake hose, otherwise damage may occur.
28	Mount front wheel and tire assemblies.		AR40.10-P-1102ME
	Concluding tasks
	Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
29	Operate brake pedal several times until the brakepads (1) make contact with the brake disks.	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
30	Check fluid level in brake fluid expansion reservoir and correct if necessary.

		If brake fluid has escaped, ↓ remove brake fluid with water.
31	Install cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir.		AR83.10-P-1411ME
32	Perform brake test on test stand.
