Structure 

2-piece, internally ventilated, compound brake disk without fasteners, consisting of friction surface (1) and sheet steel bowl (2).

Corrosion protection

Structure 

3-piece, internally ventilated, drilled compound brake disk with cast-iron friction surface (1) and aluminum bowl (3).

2-piece, internally ventilated, drilled compound brake disk with cast-iron friction surface (1), steel bowl (2) and wear bores.

Handling the composite brake disk 

While carrying out the following operations, be careful with the compound brake disks so as to avoid damage to the friction surface (1): 

Avoid any metallic impacts (risk of damaging corrosion protection)

Avoid any shocks, impacts to the friction surface (1) (e.g. on mount carrier) or use installed disk as padding/supporting surface (e.g. for steering knuckle)

NOTES Only turn the steering by turning the steering wheel, not by pulling or pushing on the brake caliper and compound brake disk.

Otherwise, the compound brake disk may become damaged.

Avoid steering knuckle turning against steering resistance through composite brake disk pressure
