1 Shift transmission to position N or to idle.    
2 Raise vehicle and fix in place on vehicle lift.   AR00.60-P-1006A
3 Release pressure from air suspension on rear axle (1) using vehicle diagnosis system. Model 205 (except 205.064/086/087/264/286/287/364/386/387/48 6/487) with code 489 (AIRMATIC Dual Control/semiactive air suspension)

10 Disconnect electrical connectors from level sensors and place electric lines to one side. Model 205 (except 205.064/086/087/264/286/287/364/386/387/48 6/487), 253 (except 253.388/389/988/989/992/993) with code 459 (DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension with adjustment damping)

11 Release left and right underfloor paneling in area of stop plates (5). Model 205.0 (except 205.064/086/087), 205.1, 205.2 (except 205.264/286/287), 205.3 (except 205.364/386/387)

12 Unhook lines (2) at right and left from holders (3).    
13 Remove bolts (4) from stop plates (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, stop plate to body *BA35.10-P-1003-01H 
14 Support rear axle (1) using major assembly mount and mounting plate.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 62 00 Support plate   WS26.00-P-3309B
15 Remove bolts (6) and remove stop plate (5). IMPORTANT Do not use an impact wrench.
DISASSEMBLING Clean thread in frame floor assembly using compressed air only, and check or correct seating of threaded inserts.		  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly *BA35.10-P-1001-01H 
16 Lower rear axle (1) at front carefully.    
17 Remove front elastomer bearings (8). IMPORTANT Always replace front elastomer bearings (8) in pairs. AR35.10-P-0040-02LW 
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Extraction and insertion tool Fig 5
    SPECIAL TOOL Hydraulic hose (complete) Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Hollow cylinder Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Securing belt Fig 6
18 Install in the reverse order.    
19 Perform chassis alignment.   AR40.20-P-0200LW
