Replace On-Board Electrical System Battery Pyrofuse Electrical Connector - AR54.10-P-1010LHV

DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Disconnect the ground line for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003LW 
2 Remove positive terminal cover.    
3 Unlock locking pin (1).    
4 Disconnect electrical connection (2).    
5 Branch off electric line (3) from electrical wiring harness.    
6 Remove insulation of electric line (3) up to behind damaged area.    
7 Cut off electric line (3) just behind damaged area.    
INSTALLING Install     
8 Cut electric repair line (5) to same length as cut-off section of electric line (3).    
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling fumes during soldering. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated. Secure power supply cables. Avoid sources of fire in working area. AS00.19-Z-0002-01A
9 Connect electric repair line (5) to electric line (3) using end sleeves (6).   AR00.19-P-0100-09A

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0049B
    IMPORTANT Observe the color coding of the electrical line (3) and electrical repair line (5).

10 Wrap repair area with fabric tape.   AR00.19-P-0100-08A
11 Integrate electric repair line (5) in electrical wiring harness and wrap with fabric tape.    
12 Connect electrical connection (2).    
13 Lock locking pin (1).    
14 Install positive terminal cover.    
15 Connect ground line of on-board electrical system battery (G1).   AR54.10-P-0003LW 
16 Delete fault memory with vehicle diagnosis system.
