Cut Off Rear End Center Assembly - Ar64.20-P-1000-02LWX

  1. Knock out threaded stud bolts (2).
  2. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut out (area A).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps 3, 4 and 5 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  3. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and cut (areas C).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  4. Expose spot welds on rear center section (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area B).
  5. Expose spot welds on rear-end center section (1) and drill out with 7 mm bit (area D).
  6. Remove rear center section (1).

  7. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps 10, 11, and 12 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  10. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Grind mating surface on inside down to bare metal (area E).

  11. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  12. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat plug welds with zinc dust paint (area F).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Apply zinc dust paint to inside (area E).
