The air conditioning system or the respective refrigerant compressor can be switched off using the "A/C" button or "A/C" and residual heat ON/OFF button. If these buttons are not installed on a control panel, the air conditioning or the respective refrigerant compressor can only be switched off via the menu in the head unit (A26/17).
The "SYNC" function is available independently from the operating unit via the Audio/COMAND® control panel (A40/9) (even if the installed operating unit does not have a "SYNC button").

- Residual heat utilization (with code 228 (Stationary heater) or code 581 (Automatic air conditioning) or code 965 (Taxi/rental car preinstallation) or model 205.013/047/053/147/213/247/253, model 253.354/954/99)
- Windshield defrost function
