Overview
This document contains the following information:
- General
- Function requirement
- Activate mirror taximeter
- Determine fare
General
The mirror taximeter determines the fare and displays this in the upper left area of the inside rearview mirror.
The mirror taximeter has a total of five modes:
- OFF
- FREE
- BUSY
- CASH REGISTER
- INTERMEDIATE SHIFT
Function requirement
- Mirror taximeter calibrated for vehicle
Activate mirror taximeter
If the vehicle is stationary and the mirror taximeter is in the FREE mode, it can be manually activated by pressing the 1 button on the mirror taximeter on the inside rearview mirror.
If the mirror taximeter was not manually activated, and a passenger is seated on the front passenger seat, it is automatically activated as soon as the vehicle starts to move (vehicle speed greater than 0 km/h).
The mirror taximeter is automatically switched off by default when the vehicle is locked from the outside and the mirror taximeter is in the FREE or INTERMEDIATE SHIFT mode.
Vehicles with taxi roof sign
In the FREE mode, the roof sign lamp is automatically switched on. If the FREE mode changes to OCCUPIED, the roof sign lamp is automatically switched off. The mirror taximeter (in FREE mode) can be used to switch the roof sign lamp on or off. The roof sign lamp is automatically switched on again when the next change is made to the FREE mode.
The roof sign lamp is only automatically switched on or off, if this function is active in the multimedia system. Otherwise, the roof sign lamp remains switched off.
Determine fare
The fare price determination starts as soon as the vehicle starts to move (vehicle speed greater than 0 km/h). The mirror taximeter calculates the fare based on the traveled distance. The mirror taximeter calculates a specified price per kilometer traveled. The fare calculation is subject to the Weights and Measures Act. The valid fare in each case is received by the taximeter through the calibration.
If the taxi is equipped with a card reader and printer (accessories), the fare due can be settled by card payment and a receipt can be printed out. To print out a receipt, the mirror taximeter must be in the FREE mode and button 3 on the mirror taximeter must be pressed. The printer starts to print.
If, at the end of a journey, a switch is made to the "PAYMENT" mode by pressing button 1 on the mirror taximeter, the interior lighting is automatically switched on when it is dark outside.
