Remove/Install Elastomer Bearing Of Thrust Arm On Rear Wheel Carrier - AR35.20-P-3403MNE

  Notes on handling, transport and storage of composite brake disks   AH42.10-P-9406-12LF
  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A
  Notes on handling, transport and storage of ceramic brake disks   AH42.10-P-9406-13A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove rear wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
2 Detach thrust arm (1) from wheel carrier (2) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted.

3 Use a suitable screwdriver (3) to secure thrust arm (1) against folding up NOTES
Clamp a rag (4) between the thrust arm (1) and the wheel carrier (2).
Otherwise, the wheel carrier (2) will be damaged.
 
4 Grease spindle of extraction and insertion tool (6) with rolling-element bearing grease    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS High temperature anti-friction bearing grease (NLGI grade 2)   BB00.40-P-0265-01A

5 Position extraction and insertion tool (6), as shown, onto wheel carrier (2) and elastomer bearing (5) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Make sure that the extraction and insertion tool (6) is seated correctly.

6 Pull elastomer bearing (5) out of wheel carrier (2) in direction of arrow and remove    
INSTALLING Install     
7 Grease spindle of extraction and insertion tool (6) again with rolling-element bearing grease    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS High temperature anti-friction bearing grease (NLGI grade 2)   BB00.40-P-0265-01A

8 Position extraction and insertion tool (6) with new elastomer bearing (5) on wheel carrier (2) as shown PASSENGER CARSPECIAL TOOL Make sure that the extraction and insertion tool (6) is seated correctly.

9 Draw elastomer bearing (5) in direction of arrow into wheel carrier (2) IMPORTANT Only pull in the elastomer bearing (5) until the protrusion at the wheel carrier (2) is the same on both sides.
The elastomer bearing (5) must be seated in the center of the wheel carrier (2).
 
10 Detach extraction and insertion tool (6) SPECIAL TOOL Extraction and insertion tool Fig 3
11 Remove screwdriver (3) and rag (4)    
12 Mount thrust arm (1) onto wheel carrier (2) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL The screwdriver bit is to be used when a bolt with a multi-socket tooth profile is fitted.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, thrust arm to wheel carrier *BA35.20-P-1002-05J

13 Remount the rear wheel   AR40.10-P-1102A
14 Perform wheel alignment check   AR40.20-P-0200LW
