Dynamic Select Function - GF32.00-P-0002FG

Model 213

up to model year 2021

with code B59 (DYNAMIC SELECT)

DYNAMIC SELECT function

The DYNAMIC SELECT function integrates essential vehicle systems that determine the driving experience. This affects the electric steering, the AIR BODY CONTROL system, the ECO start/stop function and the drive train of the vehicle. Here, the characteristics of the accelerator pedal response, vehicle-speed dependent support of the steering, shift points of the automatic transmission and accelerator pedal curve are also affected for manual transmissions. In addition, the ECO start/stop function can be activated or deactivated in the "Individual" drive program.

The following transmission modes are available:

The driver can use the DYNAMIC SELECT switch (N72/4s1) (with automatic transmission) or the DYNAMIC SELECT switch (N72/5s7) (with manual transmission) to shift between the various preconfigured drive programs and one "Individual" drive program. The driver can use the DYNAMIC SELECT switch to select the required transmission mode and the driver receives operation feedback in the instrument cluster (A1) as well as in the audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The head unit (A26/17) generates the signal for displaying the audio/COMAND display, and sends it over a high-speed video link (HSVL).

Except AMG vehicles

The DYNAMIC SELECT switch signal is read in by the lower control panel at the left (N72/4) (with automatic transmission) or by the lower control panel at the right (N72/5) (with manual transmission). The lower control panel at the left or the lower control panel at the right sends the signal over the LCP LIN (LIN A3), Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9), telematics CAN (CAN A), head unit, user interface CAN (CAN HMI), electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) and the chassis FlexRay (Flex E) to the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4).

The Electronic Stability Program control unit puts the information for the chosen transmission mode on the chassis FlexRay. The control units relevant for the new transmission mode receive the information and switch to the stored parameters for the particular transmission mode. The pre-configured parameters are listed in the following table.

In AMG vehicles

The signal of the DYNAMIC SELECT switch is read in by the left lower control panel. The left lower control panel sends the signal via the LCP LIN, the Audio/COMAND control panel, the telematics CAN, the head unit, the user interface CAN, the electronic ignition lock control unit, the suspension FlexRay, the powertrain control unit (N127) and the powertrain CAN (CAN C1) to the fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4).

The fully integrated transmission control unit puts the information for the selected drive program on the powertrain CAN. The control units relevant for the new transmission mode receive the information and switch to the stored parameters for the particular transmission mode. The pre-configured parameters are listed in the following table.
