	Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process		AH00.00-P-0020-01A

	Remove
1	Remove front left or front right wheel and tire assembly.		AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Unscrew screw of front axle shaft (1) on wheel hub.	The aid of a helper is required to remove the screw of the front axle shaft (1).
3	Detach steering knuckle from upper transverse control arm.		AR33.25-P-0400FR
4	Remove front axle shaft (1) from steering knuckle.
5	Remove front axle shaft (1) from front axle differential and intermediate shaft (4) using impact extractor (02) and pull-off device (03).	Ensure cleanliness when performing all work on the front axle differential. Otherwise operation of the front axle transmission will be impaired.

		impact extractor If, when removing on the left side, the front axle shaft (1) is stuck. ↓ Remove retaining ring (2) at intermediate shaft (4) and then remove front axle shaft (1) together with intermediate shaft (4). Otherwise the oil pan may be damaged.	Fig 1
6	Fix steering knuckle on upper transverse control arm.
7.1	Remove retaining ring from front axle shaft (1).	When removing the right side.
7.2	Remove retaining ring (1s) of intermediate shaft (4).	When removing the left side.
8	Remove radial shaft sealing ring.	When removing the right side. Install new radial sealing ring on outside right of front axle gear	AR33.30-P-0540MRH
	Install
9	Check dust boots of front axle shafts (1).	If damage is found, ↓ Replace front axle shaft.
10	Install radial shaft sealing ring.	When installing the right side. Replace radial shaft sealing ring.	AR33.30-P-0540MRH
11.1	Install retaining ring (1s) of intermediate shaft (4).	When installing the left side. Replace retaining ring (1s) of intermediate shaft (4). Apply light coating of grease to retaining ring (1s).

11.2	Install retaining ring of front axle shaft (1).	When installing the right side. Replace retaining ring of front axle shaft (1). Apply light coating of grease to retaining ring.

12	Install intermediate shaft (4).	If necessary. Lightly grease gearing of intermediate shaft (4).	AR33.30-P-0625MRH

13	Press front axle shaft (1) into front axle differential and intermediate shaft (4).
14	Release fixing and insert front axle shaft (1) into steering knuckle.
15	Attach steering knuckle to upper transverse control arm.	Replace nut. Nut steering knuckle to transverse contro	*BA33.20-P-1006-01U
16	Tighten screw of front axle shaft (1) on wheel hub.	Replace bolt. The aid of a helper is required to tighten the screw of the front axle shaft (1).
		Screw/bolt, front axle shaft to wheel hub	*BA33.30-P-1001-02H
17	Attach front left or front right wheel and tire assembly.		AR40.10-P-1102A
18	Check front axle differential for leaktightness and proper operation.	If problems exist, ↓ Rectify problem.
