| 3 | Release and disconnect the electrical connector on the left exhaust gas flap actuator motor (M16/53). | ||

| 4.2 | Disconnect at the parting point (t) with the pipe cutter. | Engine 264 in model 213, 257 |

| 5 | Remove the elastomer bearing (3) from the rear muffler (2). | ||
| 6 | Remove the rear muffler (2). | ||
| Check | |||
| 7 | Check elastomer bearings (3) for damage and wear. | If damage is present, Replace elastomer bearings (3). |

| Clean | |||
| 8 | Remove combustion and corrosion residues from separating points. | ||
| 9 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
| 10 | Check installation position and for unobstructed movement of rear muffler (2). | If complaints are present, Correct installation position of the rear muffler (2). |

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself.
