CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.
AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Slowly remove cap from expansion reservoir.    
2 Remove front, center and rear lower engine compartment lining. Engine 654 in Model 257

  Drain off     
3 Slide drain hose onto fitting (2).    
4 Open drain valve, drain coolant and collect in suitable container. IMPORTANT Only open drain valve to extent that coolant can drain out.  
5 Close drain valve.    
6 Remove drain hose.    
7 Remove coolant hose (1) at radiator low-temperature circuit and collect escaping coolant in suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
8 Attach coolant hose (1) to radiator low-temperature circuit.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
9 Remove coolant hose (3) at oil cooler and collect escaping coolant in suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
10 Attach coolant hose (3) to oil cooler.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
  Pour in     
11 Pour in coolant and bleed engine cooling system.   AR20.00-P-1142-04OLC
    Test pressure for pressure-testing the engine cooling system *BE20.30-P-1005-01A

INSPECT Check     
12 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.   AR20.00-P-1010OIB
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13 Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and leaktightness.    
INSTALLING Install     
14 Install front, center and rear lower engine compartment lining. Engine 654 in Model 257
