When sealing seams we differentiate between:
- smoothing/wiping (A)
- sealing/spreading (B)
Area of the engine compartment, wheel well, and longitudinal member shown on the left side of the vehicle
- Seal connecting flanges, spot welds, and riveted joints of the repaired area with seam sealant material.
- Insert stop plugs and grommets with seam sealant material.
Observe standard sealing. Seal only primed body parts.
Ensure that the threads on the weld nuts and threaded bolts as well as the drain openings in the contact surfaces for the axle attachments, pulleys or detachable parts are kept free of seam sealing material.
It is necessary to seal accessible spot weld flanges on both sides.
