Prepare Complete Rear Fender For Installation - Ar63.50-P-1401-02FR

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In the event of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be carried out in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
The main service document and the safety notes in the service document must be observed.
- Mark separating points on rear fender (1) and cut (areas A).
Transfer separation points from vehicle.
- Cut out spot welds on lock striker bracket (area B).
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Drill through spot weld on lock striker bracket with 6.5 mm bit (area C).
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Remove lock striker bracket.
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched area.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
