The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 257. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install, fit and fix in place side wall reinforcement (4).
- Side wall reinforcement (4)
(area A).
Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas weld down flat on side wall reinforcement (4) (area A).
Grind down flat only on beaded areas and contact areas of rear fender.
Surface-grind only on beaded areas and contact surfaces of D-pillar.
