Remove Rear Shock-Absorber Strut Tower - Ar64.20-P-1160-01FR

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In the event of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be carried out in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
The main service document and the safety notes in the service document must be observed.
- Expose spot welds on rear axle crossmember (3) and cut out (areas A).
- Expose self-piercing riveting on rear end crossmember (3) and drill through with 6 mm bit (areas B).
- Expose impact spikes on rear axle crossmember (3) and cut out (areas C).
- Expose impact spikes on rear-end crossmember (3) and drill through (areas C1
).
- Heat rear axle crossmember (3) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear axle crossmember (3).
- Expose impact spikes on damper strut dome (1) and cut out (areas D).
- Expose self-piercing riveting on shock-absorber strut tower (1) and drill through with 6 mm bit (areas E).
- Heat damper strut dome (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove damper strut dome (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
