Remove Rear Floor - AR64.20-P-1300-01FR

Model 257 

IMPORTANT Observe the higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document.

  1. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area A).
  2. Expose impact spikes on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area B).
  3. Bend open sheet metal lugs (arrow).

  4. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area C).
  5. Expose impact spikes on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area D).
  6. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (E and F areas).

    IMPORTANT Drill out spot welds from below (area E).

  7. Bend open sheet metal lugs (arrow).

  8. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas G).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  9. Expose impact spikes on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area H).

  10. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas J).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  11. Expose impact spikes on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area K).

  12. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas L).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  13. Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas M).

    IMPORTANT The operation step is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

    Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  14. Heat rear-end floor (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  19. Remove rear-end floor (1) downward toward rear.

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

  20. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
  21. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  22. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down inside of mating surfaces to bare metal (areas S).

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  23. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  24. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down inside of mating surfaces to bare metal (areas U).

    Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  25. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
