Location
The rear A/C system operating unit is located at the rear in the center console between the front seats.
Task
The climate control for the rear passenger compartment can be individually adjusted for the left and right side using the rear climate control operating unit. The rear climate control operating unit is networked through the air conditioning operating LIN (LIN B8-3) to the climate control control unit (N22/1) and it has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Transmitting signals

The rear climate control operating unit reads in the following signals over the air conditioning operating LIN:
- Circuit status
- Function feedback from control unit for climate control
Transmitting signals
The rear climate control operating unit also sends the following signals over the air conditioning operating LIN to the climate control control unit:
- Request for higher or lower specified temperature in rear
- Diagnostic data
