Remove/Install Front Seat - AR91.10-P-1000MFA

WARNING Risk of injury  during testing and repair operations related to pyrotechnical components Do not expose pyrotechnical component parts to temperatures above 100°C or 212°F. Disconnect current supply when working on such component parts. AS91.00-Z-0008-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move steering column forward and all the way up. If the driver's seat is removed.  
2 Move front seat (1) at left or right to foremost position and all the way up.    
3 Remove covers (2). IMPORTANT Do not damage the catch hooks.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Check for correct seating of covers (2).
 
4 Remove screw/bolts (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front seat to vehicle floor *BA91.10-P-1001-01U 
5 Move front seat (1) towards rear.    
6 Remove covers (4). IMPORTANT Do not damage the catch hooks.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Check for correct seating of
covers (4).
 
7 Remove bolts (5). INSTALLATION NOTES : Before tightening, position screws (3, 5) on guide rails.
Otherwise, the front seat (1) is not installed free of tension.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, front seat to vehicle floor *BA91.10-P-1001-01U 
8 Disconnect ground line from on-board electrical system battery.   AR54.10-P-0003MFA
9 Carefully fold front seat (1) toward rear until the electrical connectors (6) are accessible. NOTES Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension.
This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function.
 
10 Release, disconnect electrical connectors (6) then release electrical wiring harness from front seat (1) and place to one side. IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (6) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.  
11 Cover up center console, door sill and steering wheel.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 08 98 00 Cover   WS98.00-P-0014B
    IMPORTANT Cover door sill and door sill molding with door sill protector.  
12 Remove front seat (1) from vehicle through door cutout for front door. NOTES
Carefully remove front seat (1) from vehicle.
Otherwise, component parts of the vehicle will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Ensure that lock pins of guide rails in vehicle floor are seated correctly.
 
13 Put down front seat (1) and secure it against falling over.    
INSPECT Check     
14 Check catch hooks of covers (2). If the catch hooks are damaged,

Replace covers (2).
 
15 Check catch hooks of covers (4). If the catch hooks are damaged,

Replace covers (4).
 
16 Install in the reverse order.
