| 2 | Pry radial shaft sealing ring (1) out of timing case cover (2) with a suitable tool. | Leaks can occur otherwise. |

| Check | |||
| 3 | Check seat surface of radial shaft sealing ring (1) on timing case cover (2) for ridging and damage. | If ridging exists ↓ deburr sitting surface. If damage is present: ↓ replace timing case cover (2). |

| 7 | Slide the radial shaft sealing ring (1) in the direction of the arrow onto the insertion device (3a). | Fig 2 | |
| 8 | Mount insertion device (3) on insertion device (3a). | Fig 2 | |
| 9 | Attach nut to thread of insertion device (3a). | Fig 2 | |
| 10 | Tighten nut and insert radial shaft sealing ring (1) until insertion device (3) is in contact with timing case cover (2). | Leaks can occur otherwise. |

| 11 | Unscrew screws of insertion device (3a) from crankshaft and remove insertion device (3, 3a). | ||
