	Remove/install
1	Remove backrest in rear passenger compartment.	Model 118 with code 287 (Folding seat backrests in rear passenger compartment) with code 7U3 (Sport seats, front) except code 7U1 (Manually adjustable front seats) except code 7U2 (Luxury front seats) Model 177.0 with code 287 (Folding seat backrests in rear passenger compartment) with code 7U3 (Seat model variant 3) except code 7U1 (Manually adjustable front seats) except code 7U2 (Luxury front seats)	AR91.12-P-1713MFA
	Right seat backrest (1)
2	Remove screw/bolt (2).	Bolt, pivot bearing for seat backrest to seat backrest	*BA91.12-P-1006-03N
3	Unclip ambient lighting trim (3).	: The guide lug on the ambient lighting trim (3) must point in the direction of travel. Long wedge	Fig 1
4	Unclip cover (4).	Long wedge	Fig 1
5	Remove lining (6).
6	Unclip lock cover (7).	Long wedge	Fig 1
7	Unclip cover (5) all way round right seat backrest (1).	: Hook cover (5) to corners first and press down when completely engaged. Dismantling tool	Fig 2
8	Guide electrical wiring harness for ambient lighting out of padding (11).	: Check for correct routing and padding of wiring harness. To prevent noise development during vehicle operation.
9	Remove cover (5) with padding (11) from right seat backrest (1) and pull off from head restraint padding.	: Hook bracket (12) in area of integrated head restraint (arrows).
10	Detach cover (5) from padding (11) far enough until upholstery staples (10) are accessible.
11	Cut upholstery staples (10) and remove remaining pieces from padding (11).	Remove the pieces of the upholstery staples (10) carefully. Otherwise the padding (11) and cover (5) will be damaged. : Replace upholstery staples (10). Padding clip pliers	Fig 3
12	Remove cover (5) from padding (11).

13	Remove armrest. 14	Unclip cover (13).	Long wedge	Fig 1
15	Remove screws (14) and remove lock (15).	Bolt, lock to seat backrest	*BA91.12-P-1004-03N
16	Remove head restraint guides of center seat backrest (26).
17	Unclip upper cover (16) at rear all way round and remove.	Dismantling tool	Fig 2
18	Unclip lower cover (17) at rear all way round.	Dismantling tool	Fig 2
19	Unhook lower cover (17) at front from retaining lugs.
20	Guide out lower cover (17) over guide pins (arrows) and remove center seat backrest cover (26).

32	Pull cover (25) off padding (11).
33	Install in the reverse order.
