| 1 | Move front seat forward and fully upwards. | ||
| 2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 3 | Remove screw (7) from trim (1). | ||
| Except code 241 (Memory gearshift system for electrically adjustable front passenger seat on left) or except code 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function) or except code 275 (Electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function) or except code U59 (Seat Comfort Package) | |||
| 4 | Pry off handwheel (2). | ||
| 5 | Pry off handwheel (3). | ||
| 6 | At the bore (arrow a) release the cover (4) with the extraction hook (S) and unclip using assembly wedge (K). | Fig 1 | |
| 7 | Release catch hook (6) on adjustment lever (5) and remove adjustment lever (5). | Otherwise, the catch hooks (6) may be damaged. |

| 8 | Release outer trim (1) in rear area. | Otherwise, the guide lugs (10) may be damaged. |

| 9 | Release catch hooks (arrows b) on guide pin (8) and push guide pin (8) of outer trim (1) out of the guide in the seat frame base. | ||
| 10 | Release outer trim (1) and remove carefully. | ||
| 11 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (9) driver's seat lumbar support adjustment switch (S109/2) or front passenger seat lumbar support adjustment switch (S109/3). | Model 118, 177, 247 with code U22 (Lumbar support adjustment) except code 555 (AMG-Performance Seat) Model 243 with code U22 (Lumbar support adjustment) |
