DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Confirm change of on-board electrical system battery (G1) using diagnosis system in signal acquisition and actuation module under Actuation menu item. When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (G1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
    IMPORTANT This updates the charging characteristic for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).  
2 Remove voltage dip limiter (R62). Model 118, 177, 247 except code B01 (48V technology) except code ME08 (Hybrid drive 75-84 kW VARIANT (INCLUDING PLUGIN)) except code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in,
PHEV))
 
      AR54.10-P-0014MFA 
3 Remove nut (9) of starter battery pre-fuse box (F150/1) and place starter battery pre-fuse box (F150/1) to one side with electric lines connected. NOTES Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability.
 
4 Remove cover (10). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that guides are seated correctly.  
5 Remove nut (11) and release tensioning strap (12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, mounting rail to battery frame *BA54.10-P-1003-01D 
6 Place tensioning strap (12) to one side and remove on-board electrical system battery (G1) upward.    
7 Install in the reverse order.
