Front Longitudinal Member Section Installation And Weld In - Ar62.20-P-1260-07MFA

IMPORTANT

The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. This must be similarly performed for damage to the right side.

Comply with safety information in superordinate customer service document.

  1. Install fit and fix longitudinal member front section (1) in place using straightener.

    IMPORTANT

    Use spacers.

  2. Drill rivet holes in longitudinal member front section (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit from outside through existing holes in body (area D4 ).
  3. Remove longitudinal member front section (1) using straightener.
  4. Deburr rivet holes in longitudinal member front section (1) and body on both sides.
  5. Remove drill chips.
  6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  7. Install, fit, and fix longitudinal member front section (1) in place using straightener.

    IMPORTANT

    Use spacers.

  8. Longitudinal member front section (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 mm rivets (area E1 ).
  9. Longitudinal member front section (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas E2 and E3 ).
  10. Longitudinal member front section (1) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area F4 ).

  11. Longitudinal member front section (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area D1 ).

    IMPORTANT

    Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between so as to reduce heat distortion.

  12. Take off the straightener.
