General 

The user interface gateway is used for data exchange between the lower switch panel and the control units that are connected to the CANs for vehicle interior or diagnosis or the Flex Ray.

Function 

The user interface gateway is connected to the vehicle's network architecture.

The user interface gateway communicates with the lower switch panel over LIN. The user interface gateway receives user entries from the lower switch panel that are then forwarded by it accordingly.

It also receives the status information from the corresponding systems and sends this information to the lower switch panel for actuating the respective LEDs.
