- Connect vehicle diagnosis system and determine transmission oil temperature.
Select Oil level measurement without ultrasound unit menu item in XENTRY.
Throughout the entire test, the parking brake must not be released and no other disturbance variables may be generated, that are not required for the work procedure. All of these factors lead to the measurement being aborted and a restart being required.
- Allow transmission oil to cool to less than limit value.
If the limit value is exceeded.
Limit value is 45 °C.
The routine is resumed after the limit value has been undershot.
- Unscrew quick-release fastener using socket wrench.
- Attach
socket wrench to oil pan and turn to position 1 (Pos. 1).
- Start engine and heat up transmission oil to 49 °C.
- Set
socket wrench to position 3 (Pos. 3).
- Drain off transmission oil until the stream of oil has reduced to a thin stream (b) and the transmission oil temperature is 50 °C.
- Set
socket wrench to position 1 (Pos. 1) and detach.
Set
socket wrench to position 1 (Pos. 1) only.
Otherwise an undefined quantity of transmission oil will leak out when the quick-release fastener is reopened.
- Screw in quick-release fastener.
Replace quick-release fastener.
- Switch off engine.
- Disconnect vehicle diagnosis system from vehicle.
