Converter Dollies With A Fixed Support Leg (Single Axle)
- Position hoses, electrical cords and safety chains so that they will not interfere with hand locations or safe movement of the dolly.
- Release brakes, and then verify tongue weight by doing a test lift. (Use safe lifting practices.) This is important to do to understand if the job can be done without assistance.NOTE: The lifted weight is greater with the brakes set or with the wheels chocked.
- Placing the forward hand on the eye, and the rearward hand on the handle, lift the dolly. If moving toward the hitch, immediately move your forward hand to the handle or another part of the frame to keep hands away from any pinch points.
- Move dolly keeping weight centered between feet, and use the hips for leverage whenever possible.WARNING: Be sine to keep hands free from the drawbar eye area and avoid yard depressions which may cause the dolly to stop or twist suddenly.
- If the dolly is being parked, be sure that the brakes are set and/or the wheels are chocked.
