Purpose And Scope

This Recommended Practice (RP) offers guidelines for the retreading of light-, medium- and heavy-duty truck and bus tires used for commercial service. This RP is not a substitute for the judgment that each industry professional should make in establishing and implementing training and supervisory procedures for the proper inspection, selection and retreading of worn tires. This RP covers initial casing inspection and selection for retreading, processing and final inspection guidelines, and definition of terms used in the retreading industry.
