Pour In Coolant And Bleed Engine Cooling System - Ar20.00-D-1142-03TSC

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. INSPECT Do not add any sealant to the coolant. Radiator sealant can clog cooling ducts in engine.

IMPORTANT Use SPECIAL TOOL vacuum-type cooling system filler for filling and bleeding.

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Attach tester cap (1) to coolant expansion reservoir.
  2. Attach control unit (2) to SPECIAL TOOL tester cap (1).
  3. Attach venturi nozzle (3) to control unit (2).
  4. Close feed valve (4) and drain valve (5).
  5. Fill coolant into coolant reservoir (7)

    FLUID SPECIFICATION Make sure that there is more coolant in the coolant reservoir (7) than the engine cooling system's maximum filling capacity. Otherwise, air can enter the engine cooling system.

  6. Attach feed hose (6) to coolant reservoir (7).
  7. Insert waste air hose (8) into an empty container.
  8. Connect compressed-air hose (9) to venturi nozzle (3) and apply compressed air.
  9. Open drain valve (5).
  10. Open feed valve (4) until the feed hose (6) has filled with coolant.
  11. Close drain valve (5) if display of the control unit (2) is in the green area.
  12. Remove compressed-air hose (9) from the venturi nozzle (3) and observe whether the vacuum remains stable for 30 seconds.

    If this is not the case,

    Check hoses and connections of engine cooling system, repair if necessary and check again.

  13. Open feed valve (4).

    IMPORTANT The engine cooling system is now filled.

  14. Open drain valve (5) as soon as coolant no longer flows into engine cooling system.

    IMPORTANT The remaining existing vacuum reduces in the engine cooling system.

  15. Remove control unit (2) with all connections and SPECIAL TOOL tester cap (1).
  16. Adjust coolant level in coolant expansion reservoir.

    IMPORTANT Coolant level may not exceed "MAX" marking.
